Just as a side issue and how things get touchy, Phil Dolan lives not far from me and he has from memory 30 of the total 36 models of Indian badged Enfields ( I think this is what he told me) India Owners club put a cutoff date on Indians to exclude the Enfield badged ones. Now we have the new Indians being built. They are also excluded. So now there is three groups, genuine Indians, Enfield Indians, and the new mob

Hi chaps this was but a spat after some disagreement but there is a moral . I have seen and heard first hand where owners of originals look down on the indian made lot and also where a recent post indicated that enfield prices have not kept pace with other "classic prices "indeed I have made disparaging comment about polishing versus riding . The moral is lets live and enjoy what we do but allow others to do as they like.Ps if you dont do this then do not expect me to keep my trap shut .

Don't try to take your indian enfield to a VMCC meet then !!!  In fact, don't take any old bike (that isn't british) or one that falls just into their 25 year old window ..

It's always nice to be told you don't have a proper bike by someone that is unloading an impossibly shiny "proper" old motorycle from a trailer ..

I think shiny perfectly and correctly restored motorcycles that travel around on a trailer have their place ....

VMCC is a bit like the curates egg - good in parts.

REOC? a few years ago I thought I might like to join but an email response to my enquiry about branches and their meeting dates stopped me dead.

I do like to try before I buy and did not appreciate being told I was not welcome at any meetings unless I was member.

My mate took along a little panther 2-stroke to one of their Owners club meetings and they were very rude along the lines of "..it's not a proper panther now P*ss off.."

I am sure the Panther Owners Club are as good and bad as any club, it's just you run into these individuals.

Probably the same ones as I met in the VMCC 8-))

There are arses everywhere
