There looks a nice 350 royal Enfield on gumtree 1971 model 2750 pounds apparently only 200 miles on it owned by same family but never used .

What you think of it ? Is it real ?

1971? Makes a change from the usual, so-called '1965' machines that are popping up all over the place I suppose. Was it 'exported to India new, but in kit form for assembly from Redditch and recently brought back to the U.K' by any chance? This seems a popular tale at present. Well, looks OK but I'd want to know why it's only done 200miles. Someone has changed the tyres by the look of it (which is good as the originals would be scrap by now) but I'd want to know why if it's not been used.

Do you think it is a a real 1971 model ?

I don't know how to post a link but if you go on gumtree and type royal Enfield, it's half way down 350 1971 for 2750 pounds

Reds, can I suggest you give up on eBay and Gumtree?,
Try looking at used bikes in official RE dealers' sites. The list is easily obtainable from Google. At least this way you have a better chance of getting something genuine.

Yeah, no way that's 1971. Probably registered as 71 to get free road tax. I also think that's quite expensive for an Indian 350 even given that it seems to have a Hitchcocks exhaust system? It's in West Lothian (Scotland) so a visit might be a problem for most of us. I'm also sorry to say Gumtree is a notorious haunt of scammers so I'd go carefully. Keep hunting and posting, something will come up soon enough!
