Yes nice machine. You'd expect the sweet spot to extend a tad above 50 mph for a 700cc machine though wouldn't you?

I also have one of these which is more original in specification but not paintwork and chrome! £3792 is the price conversion from NZ$ and doesn't seem too bad for such a nice looking bike. As to the sweet spot I'd probably agree, they will go faster of course but do feel a bit stressed much over 70 mph. On the other hand we have toured 2 up on it and my wife thinks with the separate sprung seat it is the most comfortable pillion bike we have ever had. The Meteor was designed to run on the 70 octane petrol available after the War and consequently is in a very low state of tune so speed isn't really it's thing but big grin making torque is!

It actually ride quite well at 70, but the front brake is in need of some attention...
