I am back in the Market looking for a pre 1960 Royal Enfield twin cylinder Motorcycle in good running condition.

Meteor, Super Meteor, 500 Twin, Meteor Minor, anything that looks from quite good to excellent, in good running condition, as I intend to ride it, not pop it on a pedestal.

That was the very careful trial with the prototypes, but I so love the picture I keep reusing it!

I am still looking for 2 (uncracked) maroon tank badges

How have you found the 500 twin compared to a 500 bullet? My friend has an MM and we have done some comparisons when out around the Yorkshire Dales. His initial impression was that it was slower than the bullet, but once he got used to the revs he found it would 'rev on' and have a higher cruising speed. It seems less tractable than the bullet and not as good on hills, but pulls away on fast A roads.
