RE 500Twin from 1952

I am offering a very much complete 500 Twin from 1952. Reg. MOB822.
Originally planned to break it in order to use the frame for a cafe racer, however, the bike is far to nice to do this.
Matching engine & frame, tank looks reasonable, in fact, I would polish it up and only spray the panels. Engine turns over with compression etc. etc.
There are even two log books with it, a brownish one going back to 1956 and a greenish one starting in 1973 with the same owner that was registered as the last owner in the brownish one. There is an MOT certificate from 1977 and it seems that the bike was stored away after that, 5 owners in total of "MOB 822".
And there is the German customs document showing that it entered the country back in 1985, which is when the last owner put it into his garage.
What is there:
From what I have seen, the only bigger parts missing are
- speedo
- exhaust system
- suspension units
- front and rear mudguards
There is a second set of crankcases/crankshaft/pistons/one barrel and it seems that the wheels have been laced into a new set of Radaelli rims when somebody started to restore it. Both tyres brand new.
The bike is together and can be wheeled around.
I expect to get EUR 1700 ONO (ca. GBP1350 at the current rate).
Bear in mind that it is in Germany.
Interested? Send me a message at [email protected] and I can send you photos
