I am considering changing my 2009 Electra efi for a more modern bike,nothing wrong with the bike I love it,but for me its not a comfortable bike for longer trips, have tried my pals Enfield's with different seats and its the same,will be sorry to see it go though. I'm looking for swapping it for something more modern,nothing bigger than 500cc preferred,nothing sporty, needs to be in excellent condition,with long not. Japanese or European. Cash difference available for right bike. Any offers considered,or advice on possible bikes to consider.

2009 Electra efi, red, standard except for Genuine Enfield sports silencer,mot June 2014. 3700 miles,in excellent condition. Comes with following Genuine Enfield spare 's Woodsman seat,with small rip to cover,small solo rack, all brackets,heatshield and exhaust elbow to convert to Enfield Trials upswept exhaust, using the sports silencer fitted,Enfield Trials handle bars, and original very long Electra Silencer. Photos available of bike as it is now and with woodsman seat etc fitted.

Oops..Sorry but I am having to withdraw the bike,her indoors has just hit the roof when she found I wanted to change it,saying I did nothing but complain about my previous Yamaha Diversion and how much I wanted an Enfield and now I want to change it again . Bottom line is I either keep it or sell it. I am reluctant to sell and have nothing as I still have a few more years riding bikes,so I am going to see how I go with my back pains on it. Someone told me Hagon rear shocks may help,any views on this,don't want to buy and find no difference,there not cheap. I think a lot of the problem is the rubbish dual seat,no one seems to sell a better one for the Electra efi. At the moment then the bike is withdrawn for now.

I found the seat on mine very uncomfortable but it was only when I took it off I realised there is actually only a couple of inches of foam in the seat. I took it to a chap here in barnstaple who put new foam in it and instead of the big step between driver and pillion he levelled it out so the the driver now has about 4 or 5 inches of foam to sit on, a huge improvement.

You could be right about the foam,although the seat on my Electra is not the stepped type,its fairly straight,I did wonder if maybe the foam was a bit soft,what I don't really want to end up with is a seat as deep as a armchair,I never had this problem on my previous Diversion 600 and Kawasaki GT 550.I shall have to see if there is anyone near me in Taunton who may be able to sort it out. I did try a woodsman seat on it but that was the same, the spring seat on the Enfield Classic efi is a little better,but not much. I have also looked at all the seats from India on Ebay,but wonder about by the quality,and there very vague on what models they fit.

Your probably right, but sometimes its easier to agree,she probably saved me a few grand though on suggesting I should keep the bike . I have sold bikes in the past and always regretted it after. Just got to sort out the seat now.

--------- I make that 15Hrs-24mins it was actually for sale !!-------- Careful matey, that's almost a record, methinks.......Yes, I'm also selling one but I do have another being re-built as we type !!............ conversely my 'er indoors doesn't like the Enfields at all---preferring our 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing instead ---------- kiflike sigh!!----------no pleasing some folk, eh ??
