After over ten years of ownership I've decided to sell the 51 Bullet. I have since I've owned it originalized it to a considerable extent with the appropriate carb, speedo (Smiths chrono)and a host of other bits and pieces that I have scouted out from swap meets over the years. It has a brand new barrel and piston and has had every bearing replaced also re chromed Dunlop rims with brand new K70's . There really isn't a lot to do other than ride it left to do but two other bikes means that this isn't getting the miles it deserves. Located in Auckland New Zealand so if you're in this part of the world and fancy a very tidy machine drop me a line. Simon

Cheers, according to the Register it was part of a shipment of thirteen bikes sent out here in January 1951.

Looks very good Simon, well done, what colour is that, it appears to have a bit more blue in it from memory. I have to paint mine shortly

Hello SIMON, ---------- sad day indeed..What a lovely scenario it's set in as well--- Can't you twist young NORM's arm to part with some folding stuff ?? Keep it in the "family" so to speak !!--- Only joking Norm, let's hope it goes to a deserving home-- ie a caring/considerate rider.

Alan,
Would love to have it, but I bought a frame from Tim Busby in NZ a few years back and by the time I got it here it had cost me $800 so anything from NZ is off limits to me

Yes it's only 1200 miles of water but the Tasman Sea is barrier none the less. I shipped a Benelli 650 home from Sydney half a lifetime ago and it was ok then but not a risk for taking lightly. Mind you the incredible strength of the $AUD must make a few machines in the Northern Hemisphere more attractive.

Cheers Alan, that's my back garden which is dry as a wooden rattle at the moment. As for kind caring rider that is always a hope but any speed fiends are going to be a little disappointed as it's stock standard with a 6.5:1 compression piston and very conservative cams designed for pool petrol so whilst 50mph it will do all day any more requires a tail wind or a down hill run
