Indian private import - not registered - could be a problem?

Not really. My Lightning was an unregistered import and getting it Registered wasn't that much of a problem.

Are you SURE it doesn't need an SVA??
I imported a 500 Classic in 2004 and had all the hassle of replacing tyres, lights, etc., etc. before getting it through an SVA test. Only then, could I register it in the UK. I notice it still has the Indian registration plate, so I'm curious why you haven't gone through the registration process.

Any bike that's over 10 years old, the MSVA isn't a requirement. My 1999 Lightning passed it's MOT complete with the original Indian Dunlop tyres. The owner simply bought the machine. Brought it over to the UK and then put it in the garage. He never bothered to Register it.

Tis true the lightning i`ve just bought has the original Mitas tyres and headlight with a stick on lense to blank the offside upswept diplight.
