There was one on e bay a while back that didn’t sell. The seller was The Motorbike Shop in Stockport, worth giving them a call to see if they still have it. Good luck with the search, great bikes.

Keep you eyes peeled on ebay, they seem to come up once or twice a year, also keep checking our hosts' bikes for sale listings on this site. Gumtree too, you never know, and REOC members' sales if appropriate.

Of course if our hosts ever get around to casting up another batch of big heads you can put your own together.

Not being familiar with this RE type (apart from seeing photos), what is the main attraction of a big head?

Jokes apart, and there is a lot of scope.... I'm being serious ;)

It is the visual appeal of that great big lump of a single cylinder engine, which works best with an alloy cylinder IMHO.

Go on, you know you want one...

When Bullet Whisperer built the engine for mine he took a picture of it alongside another customer's 500 Bullet with the standard head, a good comparison shot. You'll have to imagine the rocker box covers fitted to the one on the left.

To be fair, the difference between those two engines in the picture above is exaggerated a bit by the barrel of the ordinary head type engine having been shortened by 1 fin. There are also benefits when tuning by using a big head, when in 'Fury' spec and our 350 racer - a 500 big head short stroked to 350 cc will rev to 9,500 rpm, wins races, won a championship in 2018 and broke and set set a new lap record three times during one race on Anglesey. It uses Fury sizes ports, valves and 1 1/2" GP carb, thanks again to the big head.

So, bigger ports and valves and more cooling fin area... thanks.

And it does look more attractive, too.
