Only 6500 miles, just fully serviced and oil change for what was to be for my benefit, only had the bike a few weeks but rides nice with no known faults.

Good chance he will, he collected it yesterday to take it home to Middlesborough, will sit in his garage until the better weather.
I hope he doesn't see the 2 threads running about the big ends, these were started after I put mine up for sale, and to the best of my knowledge there is nothing wrong with the bike I've just sold him.

A forum of this type will have any bike faults highlighted you don't need many faulty one's to give a bad name, I bet in real terms the faults are few and far between.

Too true. Trying to gauge the reliability of anything on these forums is like trying to assess the health of the nation by asking only those sat in doctor's surgeries.

It pays to do some research about the known weak spots of any make and model of vehicle before purchase. Maybe the new owner has and has factored in the cost of a new sprag, cam followers and a bottom end rebuild after another 10,000 miles! A well-sorted Electra-X is a good fun bike and viable commuter transport. Even if the new owner has still to find out, at least he should have a bit of time to prepare with a few carefully chosen spares stashed away. A
