Hopefully I will take some insurance out this week for my 2006 Electra X. I also wish to insure a couple of classic scooters, one 1994 bike and a 2008 import. I was with Carol Nash but cancelled as they would not move on increased premium. I'm looking for recommendation for fully comp and a company that answers the phone. I am 50+ with a clean full license. I would love it if I could get Saga to insure my bikes. Also any tips for reducing price? I will store my bikes in a brick built garage.

Have you tried Footman James? When I used to frequent a certain online Classic bike messageboard a lot of the older riders with brick-built garages seemed to use them, I'm not sure about the customer service though.

Definitely try Lynbrook. They came and gave our VMCC section a talk a few years back and they’ve been every bit as good as their sales pitch. I also found them flexible on premium and do not charge for mid-term bike changes (CN wanted £40 a pop I seem to remember...)

I re-insured both my bikes last month. The "specialist" bike insurers I've used in the past had all quoted a lot higher than the last few years (I've never made any claim but have only 2 years NCD available). I thought outside the box, tried elsewhere and went for a Hastings Direct multi-bike policy. Both now insured fully comp, for £153. This includes protected NCD and 90 days EU cover, the latter just in case I cross the channel, Irish Sea, or venture north to Scotland post Brexit...

Thanks for the information. Footman James never seem that competitive and want membership of a motorcycle club. Carol Nash also charge to remove bikes midway through. I will have a look at your suggestion wheaters.

I spoke to Carole Nash insurance a few days ago asking about removing a bike - I was told that they NEVER charge for removing a bike from a policy, they only make a charge to make changes or add additional bikes. Reason for asking is that I am hoping to sell one of my bikes in the near future.

In case you are wondering about intra UK travel, Scotland is in fact part of the UK, and therefore any insurance police irrespective of Brexit will apply north of the notional border....
