Recent surveys on 4 year old bikes say that
BMW with 40% failure and Triumph with 29% are the most unreliable bikes to buy.
Google it for more info.ie most reliable motorcycles.

https://www.consumerreports.org/cro/new ... /index.htm Enfields are not listed - they must be ultra reliable

I think maybe they didn't conduct the Enfield owners survey as they already know reliability issues.Maybe the Himalayan would be a nice surprise.
Mark c. BMW and Triumph are regarded as quality and reliability so that was a surprise for me.

I understand that if you're buying a new bike reliability will be a serious issue. However that survey raises a lot of questions, first it's American so the usage and expectations will be different. Second, we don't know how many of the reliability 'issues' were due to product recall, although that's still a problem! obviously. And finally, in the world of motorcycles when did head rule heart?! I think in the car world many 'reliable' brands have similar problems, the differences seem to be in the advertising pitch and the quality of aftersales service. My bikes tend to be elderly, so I'm up for fixing problems, I have to be!

How surprising. An American consumer report trashing European machines....
Who would have thought it...?

Harley Davidson doesn't rate highly
with all the Japanese bikes beating them.
Should be noted that this was the latest large
scale owners survey and was published in 2015.

Triumph and BMW owners must read this...
Each one of my Enfields individually has been less reliable than the collective problems and breakdowns of all the Triumphs and BMWs I've ever owned. Simply because my Triumphs and BMWs never suffered with any breakdowns or problems

Agree with that Ric.That's what surprised me about this survey.I had a bonnie America from new in 2007 and had two trouble free years with it.The BMW f650 I had with the exception of a rear wheel bearing replacement was trouble free over two years ownership.
