Hi, can anybody help as regards the history of my bike and who originally built it and why.
The bike is an Electra X engine in what I believe to be a 2005 bullet 65 classic rolling chassis, chrome tank and mudguards and TLS front brake. I bought it eight years ago from a lady in Chesterfield (if I remember right) whose husband had tragically passed away. I bought it as a non runner as the lady's son could not get it running.
Any help or information much appreciated.
Thanks Roy.

I have seen a picture of a Model 2005 Sixty-5. It's exactly as you describe. Sadly, I know next to nothing about them, but 'trouble shooting' the bike is still the same. IE: Has it got a spark? Is the spark in the right place? Etc. etc.

Roy,

since you bought the bike eight years ago I'm guessing you have it up and running by now. The different electrical systems with the Electra-X and Sixty-5 are probably what foxed the late owner's son.

I'm sorry I can't help with the history of this bitsa, but something very similar, the AVL Classic, was actually a recognised model for the USA market though never officially sold here. I think the only obvious difference would be the tin fork shrouds instead of the Sixty-5's gaiters.

If the bike is still a non-runner please let us know.

Thanks Adrian, it's definitely a bike that has been put together from two bike's and it does have the fork gaiters also the 65 style tool boxes. I used it for a couple of years then it lay under cover at the bottom of the garage with an holed piston. I have totally striped and rebuilt the engine and very near finished the rest of the bike, I intend to start using it again when the weather picks up next year. Always take a bike away with us towed behind the motorhome.

Sorry guys, I've found out that the previous owner was a Fred Gibson from Alfreton in Derbyshire. Any further information appreciated. Thanks Roy.
