Norm: I can never understand why people will spend sometimes hours driving/riding to the beach on a hot day, have a swim, then lie on the boiling-hot sand under a boiling-hot Sun and say they are there to get out of the heat.

The only time I go near a beach is when on holiday at our mobile home in Brittany, we walk across two beaches to get to a bar.
