Sorry guys-----I won't be with you tomorrow for TON-UP DAY at Towcester. Gearbox output seal has sprung a leak !!!!! Needless to say I'm non-too happy about this---- even the cat has covered her ears. I've got it all stripped down now (6.20pm SAT) --- but of course no new seal in stock.Have a safe ride and a burger on me !!

Alan, that's a shame. I'll let you know how it looks tomorrow, can't vouch for the burgers though as my favourite caff is actually the Super Sausage further down the A5!
Had a domestic crisis under the kitchen sink today which threatened cancellation here, too, but a bucket has been pressed into service in true Enfield "get you home" style!

Wotcha. . .Sod's Law, eh ?. I'll probably wander off around Wales tomorrow then - that seems the best option weather-wise. .Best of luck with getting it fixed.

Hi Guys------- thanks for the tea & sympathy !! Yes,I have 2 Bullet 500 Classics. The other one has a duff con-rod. ie }-- "wrist pin" hole is u/s. It looks like the g'box mainshaft has got a nice groove in it where the seal runs. And only 6,000 miles on the clock. Oh well----time to start earning my keep. I'm toying with the idea of converting to a twin-lip seal OR ---another same type seal as additional. Currently I am the proverbial bear with a sore head !!! WOLFIE }---- must have been all those rides we've been doing ?? Take a pot of wode and some shiny trinkets if you intend crossing the boarder ..

Alan,
The gearbox oil seal runs on a distance piece so that needs replacing, no big deal once the seal is out

Hi NORM ----- sorry matey----wasn't thinking too clearly yesterday. I meant the inner primary chaincase seal that sits just behind the clutch assy. and runs on the g'box mainshaft. I was really looking forward to this particular ride. Bike's been going fine up to now. And just to rub it in------------the sun's shining away like the clappers !!! OH---BUM !!

Well it was a cracking morning up there! The Interceptor got shown right onto the front along with a cracking little Continental, a Continental GT with full racing fairing, several early Indian Bullets and then 2 gents turned up on Diesels to the astonishment of many! Other bikes included a 4 cyl Renault engined Featherbed special on Dutch plates, squillions of Gold Stars and Vincent twins, lots of standard and bobbed and chopped Triumphs, a very newly restored Brough Superior SS80, a little jewel of an MV Augusta, lots of cafe racered modern Triumphs and hundreds of cement mixers. (A sunny day is the only time you see the weekend warriors!) Shame not to meet you Alan, hopefully another time? Thanks for the message about the swinging arm from Chris, you'll all see the results soon I hope...
REgards, Mark (and I forgot the camera, sorry!)
