I enjoyed that thanks. And you are a naughty boy for riding through those puddles in the layby, test the off road capability by all means but think of the poor apprentice who has to clean it! (Must clean the Interceptor, I reckon I found the muddiest 5 miles of road in Northamptonshire on Tuesday, near Fawsley Hall if you like patina...)

Cheers for embedding the link papsmurf.

Leon, it's nowt special, but saves a load of weight and sounds good. You won't be ab le to see much of it withe the panniers on anyway. I think, although I don't know, that they were trying to match the shape of the original some what.

Mark M: It was already dirty. I was just making sure (wink).

I've asked for a quote for a standard Himalayan in black and white, plus the larger front screen (when it becomes available is open to guesswork), engine bars (again, guesswork to when they will be available), heated grips, accessory power socket, spot lamps, engine guard (if not standard fit), full pannier kit, and the new exhaust end can. I think that's all. I will then make my decision.

Thanks all,

Chris.

I was only joking Chris! Wayne at Hitchcocks has just bought one and l know they are working on accessories for them now so l might wait a bit before buying Factory exras, H's stuff generally being better. They wanted to start making parts earlier but had to wait and see what the delivered models had fitted. REgards, Mark

Lucky man to be getting out on a bike, our roads are still white with salt every am so bikes are still under wraps in the garage, so the long awaited test ride on a HIMALAYAN is still a week or two away, or when weather improves, But super video well worth watching.

That’s a great video. Thanks. Reminds me of some of my old riding haunts way back when. Good to see a dirty Himalayan; keeping that sort of bike spotlessly clean misses the point in my view. One wonders what it would go and sound like with the standard exhaust...Personally I’d wait until the twins are available. I’d be gutted to buy a Himalayan and then be bowled over by the twin. BTW are you a distant relative of Jasper Carrott?😀

Hi Chris------we haven't heard from you for a while......Good to see that replacement engine is holding out......As usual a great video...Looks really good on my PC at FULL SCREEN setting..I even started to "ease off on the throttle" when that silver car pulled out in front from the R/H side --LoL !!.......My last Classic 500 Bullet came from Jones and Shipman a few years ago......If you go out to the Stafford showground entrance there is a miniature steam railway that I go to ...You'd be most welcome to come and have a ride..........In the video, just before your first lay-by stop you can see a smaller one on the left hand side...I got to know that one quite intimately as my throttle cable nipple pulled off just there after a full day's riding up in Matlock etc.....It was 2 hours before that recovery truck arrived !!......I'm approaching 70 now so I don't think the "Himarlee-un" is for me but I can see it's a fun thing to ride...A Honda Transalp was briefly considered not long ago but proved to be too tall, as did the Triumph Tiger I think you mentioned....Have a look in and around Knucklas Viaduct for some good rides.....Are we going to have a Breakfast meet-up at the Quatt cafe some time ??...Ride Safe, Buddy !!
