Is anyone going on the North Yorks DGR later this month? I will be riding from Darlington direction to the meeting point outside York and wondered if anyone else wanted to tag along. The run itself seems quite a short distance.

I was set to do the Leeds one but had to drop out as I was double booked. That was a pretty uninspired route, lots of the ring road. If I try again next year I think I'll try one further away where they have to go somewhere a bit more inspriring.

My thoughts too Andy, Fifty-odd miles of A19 to get there and then a spin round Yorks ring road. Maybe I'll just go for a ride in the Dales. Nice to meet other riders though.

This will be my fourth consecutive (London) DGR and it's true that the city rides aren't terribly inspiring.

However, apart from raising money, the rides are also meant to raise awareness of men's health issues - which is difficult to achieve in the middle of nowhere, unless your trying to raise the awareness of some sheep.

We get north of a 1000 bikes, on the London ride, which is pretty cool.
