Has anyone experienced the outer cover on the gearbox still flexing after fitting the strengthener kit? This is happening on my 2008 350 Bullet. The cover may be flexing marginally less but it's distinctly noticeable, particularly around the lower inspection cover. I fitted the clutch spring set with 3 heavy spring some time ago and this may be a contributing factor. I noticed that when tightening the neutral lever stop bolt it pushed the cover in millimeter or two and wonder if a spacer washer behind the cover at the stop bolt is worth considering; this might not be easy to fit however. My worry is that with the cover being pushed in at the stop bolt and it being pushed out around the inspection cover, there's a bigger chance of the cover fracturing.

When I installed the stiffener I was wary of variations in inner to outer case spacing but mine fit closely enough. A shim against the inner case or a washer above the stiffener is a great idea.

Original Redditch/Albion ones fit and don't flex, if you don't mind a 2mm step as they are slightly smaller.

I made my own stiffener before Mr H brought his out.

As I see it, you are stopping the outer case flexing outwards so don't tighten the lever stop so that it pushes the cover inwards at all. You could shim it if you want but a bit if light duty loctite will stop it coming loose.

Thanks to all for responses. I'll try PeteF's suggestion and report back.
