You are very kind in nominating my RE as bike of the week, but I think you may be a bit RE biased? The Norton/Ducati is what caught my attention - it is a serious piece of quality engineering.

A minor point - although the Continental is registered 1970 (not 1960) according to the factory records it was built in 1966. The bike was part of a consignment of 106 Continentals returned unsold by the USA distributor. The Americans wanted larger capacity bikes so the Conti's were returned in p/ex for Interceptors. After being re-imported back into the UK it was despatched to Revetts of Ipswich in May 1969.

Those GTs sold in the USA were fitted with the same high rise bars as the Mk1A Interceptor and had the flyscreen removed as well. I think they look really nice like that incidentally. They have been nick-named InterContinentals for the number of times they crossed the Atlantic!

Mark - I didn't know that! I see our hosts sell these bars. Will keep that info in mind - my old bones don't really suit clip ons any longer!

OB, there is another option, you could reverse the bars, left on the right and vice versa, pointing up. They come out more or less flat. One of our Branch members has done this and it works very well. My GT is still standard but a killer on the wrists! OldBoy67, Of course I am a bit RE biased. Here we are on the RE forum. Anyway, I like to feature a bike (Any old british make) and yours was just crying out to be that bike!
