I was in India A shiped a Inda made Bullet 500 ino the port of New Orleanes La.
I live in Lafayette, a 200 mile drive to pick it up. I did and its been sitting
for almost 10 years. I'd like to restore it into a reto- looking or period bike
with a saddle seat, tank, fenders and make all the neccessary changes. I do not
know where in the world to start..? Are there books as to what I can do..? Can
anyone offer help or suggestions...?

Hi JC,
Good luck with the bike and many a happy mile. Whatever you do befor trying to start her replace the cork seal on the timing side as this will e cracked and break up and so block oil to crank. Our hosts do a replacement as well as other parts and a good service.

JC, everything you need is on our hosts website or in their catalogue, including bikes that they have customised themselves.
When you have done will yours be the only Enfield in Lafayette - or even New Orleans?
Best of luck old chap.

Hello JC and welcome to the world of Bullet ownership !!( OK, 10 years late, but ---so what ??). Might I suggest that as a starter you look in our hosts PHOTO GALLERY and in particular---the CUSTOMER MODELS for ideas and inspiration ?? Decide which period you want to capture. Also--- there are some American-based Enfield forums etc. that can provide first-hand information and don't live half a world away !! Get used to the idea that these are OLD designs ( even though they may be "modern" built )--- and they do need some "owner input, Sir!!" ie you'll need to do some Spannering-time. BUT---please, please DO ENJOY IT !!!! It's worth the time & trouble ( and the m.o.n.e.y. as well). Best of luck...send us some photos of your progress ??
