Sunday 1st July is the annual LE Velocette Club Day at Astley Colliery. Massive variety of bikes on display, In recent years the avg. numbers of bikes has been over 90.. all welcome old and new. Also look at the winding gear, machinery and various stuff scattered around. No formal museum entrance or anything. Come along and enjoy it. And good food. East Lancs Road, 1/4 mile on the left if going from Manchester towards Liverpool. Watch out for the winding gear, visible from the East Lancs…. This in the village of Astley Green, For more details contact Chris…………..………………. Tuesday 3 July The time is 19.30….The place The Birch Hotel, Manchester Road Birch Heywood OL10 2QD….The contacts are John 01706-360828 Chris 0161-442-1906….What do we do at these meetings, that is a very hard question to answer, its anything that’s related to Enfields, Royal or otherwise….advise on tech questions, both giving and receiving…….Some of the discussions get heated, but its all part of an exchange of ideas. of what can be / should be done to keep our bikes on the road, and what we use them for….Those with the more modern bikes may not see the need to learn what is happening inside there bike, but there will be a time when getting to grips with the bikes inner being…. This alone keeps many of us on our toes, the is always a need for a place to pick someone’s brains, on a tech problem, or lean a new twist one and old one…... All are welcome, its all part of that happens at a meeting of like minded people….As you may have guessed it’s the next meeting of the South Lancs mob…..For those that may have not been before, as you come on to the car park, look RIGHT, for the signs for the private bike park, and meeting room….For further info please ring John or Chris.

Hi Martin nice to hear that you chaps are still getting around more power to your elbow. Pity we didnt all get on as you missed a good rideout last week round the Lincs coast and we are busy planning a full weekend rideout camping in the south lakes and over hardnott and wrynose pass.

Just to add to what Martin said, the plans are to have some of the mining machinery actually working for a short spell. This is the first time I can remember this actually happening instead of it just sitting there... which is already interesting enough. Some of their guys have been putting a lot of work in. So if the bikes aren't enough to persuade you, then this should tip the balance!
