I decided I needed a little more storage space for days out with Thumper. Not much for taking a rucksack, I decided an extra box would hold things like my Thermos flask, camera and packed lunch. I have the small carrier fitted so I bought one of these..

It bolted on nicely and looks like this:

If anyone is interested in how I did it, here's a link to the whole shooting match. The good thing is, that it is lockable and holds a surprising amount of stuff. Price? Just over a tenner...

Hello Exile, great idea!

I had a look for 'Office Depot' (the name on the box) online as I'd like to do the same, but it seems you need a trading account with them first before they'll let you online...?

Where did you get yours from?

Thanks

Nice job Exile, and from someone with no engineering background, they look like excellent technical drawings to me! If the bolt ends are a problem, could you use button-headed allen key bolts and put the nut on the outside?

@ Ed...

The idea with the nuts inside the box is for theft-proofing..! I did consider a tool box thing but they are, to say the least, inelegant!

Stephen..

I just went on line and found one here in Denmark. Google is my friend.. Try Googling cash boxes, or similar. I'm sure one will come up..

Neat thought it is, it still looks like someone has bolted a cash box to the back of your bike, probably because someone HAS bolted a cash box etc... Is this, despite the flask and sarnies smoke screen, a very subtle protest about Scandinavian bridge tolls, assuming they have them?

Ed, taking into account where Exile lives, I doubt if your suggestion would even raise an eyebrow if implemented...

Thanks for the link - I now have one on order. I like the 'cash box bolted onto carrier' look!
