I thought i'd again tap into the great reservoir of info on this site.
I live in the Stourbridge area are there any competent Motorcycle Garages/mechanics that anybody could recommend? Servicing M.O.Ts etc.

Also any i should avoid before i start picking from the yellow pages?

For a sympathetic MOT try Tony Jones Wordsley/ Brierley Hill area on 01384 79499 (no there isn't a number missing!).I don't know of anyone i could recommend for servicing as they are all into Jap bikes which are not the same at all!I try to do what i can and fortunately have a mate who does anything i can't do.

For Servicing M.O.T's etc i recommend
Dudley Motorcycle Centre
73 King Street
Dudley
01384 252 222
http://dmc-bikes.co.uk

If you phone them ask for Ian (he's been a mechanic and bike rider since the 70's and knows Enfields)

Hi Lee
I am in Wordsley and can also recommend Tony Jones.
If he can not help you he will know someone who can! He is a legend in this area.

Hello LEE---nice to meet you the other week-end at Quatt. Pity you couldn't come with us--we had a smashing day-out. If you want the basic servicing done ie oils, filters, points, general visual check then give this firm a try}----------BLUESTONE ENGINEERING, TELFORD, SHROPSHIRE. You supply the parts and they fit them while you wait-- for FREE !!! The Owners name is ALAN R---- he's a decent sort of chap who's into all sorts of Mechanical Engineering. There's even a cup of tea and chokky bikkies in it as well. I use him all the time-------Bye for now-------------------------

Cheers guys, glad i asked. Tony Jones sounds like the fella does he run a garage is based in 'premises' or is he bloke from his own shed so to speak?

Alan R, nice one - the choccy biccies swing it for me! It was nice to meet you all. Hopefully i can get out on a proper run soon. (As soon as i have replaced my clutch cable - the fun never ends!!)

----------- yes, saw that frayed clutch cable in another (dare I say it ?? Oh --go on then )------THREAD !! Just remember the old Enfield maxim ----"Requires a certain amount of Owner Input , Sir". And, of course there is always that comforting thought that no matter what job you are doing on your Enfield at this very moment, statistically there's going to be at least another 50 or so throughout the land, all doing the same thing !!! There now, doesn't that give you a nice, warm feeling ??---'corse it duz.
