I can`t help you there, but a fairing will greatly amplify the noise from the engine, which is already too noisy.

Ear plugs for the muffler is the way to go. It`s the tappets, valve gear, rockers, piston slap, small end clunk, big end boink.( Rattle, rattle, rattle). Bin dere, dun dat.
