Chuffed to buggery

Finally... I am contented. I have finally turned Tornado into the dream that I wanted for so long. He is reliable, bits don't fall off anymore, he looks good, handles great and while you look might have those Enfield silly grins, I got what my mate called 'apple-hectic' (or something similar, I know it wasn't epileptic) smile on my face.

I am truly contented. I am one with my bullet as my bullet is one with me.

I don't know what else to say... the bond between myself and Tornado is pure.

I don't give a crap how old or where he was made... This is the one!

Did you paint the engine bits with Humbrol paint as well Scaly?
If so, did you polish it afterwards as its a Matt finish if I remember rightly?

It's Humbrol matt 116 and then their lacquer. It's that semi-gloss finish that looks like it was supposed to be shiny, but somebody sat in it whilst it was drying. In fact, that's the name - 'satin'.

My mate called me a twat and said it wasn't 'apple-hectic' it was 'indomitable smile' that he said.

Hi Simon,

What make are those knobbly tyres? Are they OK in the wet? I'm wondering whether to fit a pair of Mitas type to my new bike, 1963 G80CS, but have been warned of woe if I hit a wet patch ont' road. Also the rim sizes are a bit of a bind (300x21 & 400x19) as the 18" rear is far easier to find in paired knobblies.
Advice sought generally.
I too am chuffed with my bike, but not to the point of sodomy. TTFN Jack

What Kevin don't know... Anyway, he got the golden arrow indicators.

The tyres are from our hosts, Ensign universal trials...
Mr.H's tyre emporium Been ok in the wet, but then I don't try 'knee downs'
