And a Merry Christmas from me too! As for the additional Happy New Year, now is a good time to recommend the Stony Stratford New Year's Day Classic Vehicle Show! The whole town is taken up with old vehicles of all types, cars, trucks, military vehicles, buses, racing cars etc etc. The motorcycles and very oldest vehicles are to be found in Market Square, MK11 1BE and although cars must pre-book this prime space, motorcycles can just turn up on the day. The rest of the Town is free parking for all. The event runs from 9.30 to 4.30 with prize giving early afternoon. No entry fee but donations to the chosen charities appreciated. Come along, I'll be on a Royal Enfield, not sure which one yet, probably the Mk2 Interceptor. If you miss this the next one will be on the 4th of June, same place.

Away with a stranger,
my bike's being fixed,
Must get hold of Hitchcock’s,
to order the bits,
it made some odd clanging,
during my last ride,
it seems the oil pumps,
need a new worm drive.
A gasket is blowing,
my baby awakes,
blowing oil on the tyre,
no wonder it skates,
search through bullet bible,
ah, there it is phew!
I’ll order one up,
make my RE like new!
I need you dear Bullet,
I ask you to stay
Close by me forever
And love me I pray
Bless all Royal Enfields
they’re beyond compare,
They’ll take you to heaven
So ride with them there.

A warning to all, be careful about drink driving as we are getting close to Christmas and Police are out there checking on people.
Last night I was out for a few drinks. One thing lead to another and I had a few too many cocktails and then went onto the wine.
Not a good idea. Knowing I was over the limit, I decided to leave my van at the pub and took a Bus home.
Sure enough, I passed a police checkpoint, where they were pulling over drivers and performing breathalyser tests.
Because I was in a Bus they just waved it past.
I arrived home safely and without incident, which was a real surprise as I've never driven a Double Decker before and I am not even sure where I got it from.
Merry Christmas everyone... gwilly.
