Hi All,

in the old days (groan i here you cry)
chain length was measured by links ie

just measured my bullet chain and its 50 links plus the connecting link

i now note its called pitches,so my chain is 102 pitches with link.

very odd comments anyone.

A pitch is the distance between the centre lines of two adjacent pins. In the old days (I remember as well) a link was often defined as the distance between three pins (counting a link as a "outer plate" pitch and an "inner plate" pitch together) I didn't know we'd stopped doing it like that.
