I think Norm has long since given up on any post-Redditch Royal Enfields after the fiasco with his Electra-X.

Our spies tell us there is a 750cc twin being road- tested as we speak, but don`t tell anybody.

The Himalayan was shown at the NEC Motorcycle Live last week - quite compact, looks well made but time and the market will tell.

"Looks well made"?
You might laugh, and you might scoff,
But rev it up and bits fall off,
Bits fall off and hit the ground,
But loctite keeps your enfield sound!
all together... YAY!

Spence, now here's a thing. I saw a rather strange press release on the stand at M'cycle Live which went something along the lines that the Himalayan would be released to the UK market 'depending on the reaction of the public and Dealers at the Show'. So to me that reads that RE are not all certain whether it will come here or not. . . . .

OK; it's no good, I'm going to have to ask: Who the hell is Norm and why should anyone be bothered about what he thinks of the Himalayan? There.I can't be the only one who wonders about this vital question.

Rattlebattle - That shows your relative youth on this forum.
Norm is an Aussie guy, famed for being able to fix any motorcycle with nothing more than a good hard stare! He always has good info but has not visited us for a while now.
Here's a poem about him...

Thanks Scalyback; nice poem. I bet there are some other newbies here that are secretly grateful I had the temerity to ask....
