First I would like to thank Hitchcock motorcycle for a top notch service on supplying with my new 1950 look exhaust fitted straight on no problem everything was there it took long to get old one off the difference it ha made to my RE 2016 classic is amazing I kissed a lot of vibration and the response to throttle is a dream

A lot of the vibration is transmitted up the down tube and if the exhaust is not fitted to the head just-so it can feel a lot worse. There is a copper exhaust gasket that fares a lot better than the original crumbly cement biscuit, may require two; phone Hitchcocks because it's not listed online (sorry, the part number is hanging in the shed, the spare).
The vibration does lessen, a lot, with increasing mileage. Also ensure head stay and front engine mounts are tight.
Yeah, that exhaust system works. Loads of torque
btw, Exile's instruction do not only work for Photobucket, with a bit of code fiddling they work for Flickr and other photo sites.

Yes Jaffa; I've just done the same with my 2015 C5 with about 1900 miles on it. I can't believe the difference the new exhaust has made not only to the performance (over 80mph on the clock now, on a roll-on in top gear) but also to the vibration, despite having already done the loosen engine bolts, run it and tighten routine. The new exhaust is also way lighter than the original bazooka, doesn't need to be shifted to torque the axle nut every time I tension the chain and looks a lot better too. I reckon these engines respond to a good thrashing once they've done a few miles; mine is way smoother since I had it flat out briefly in top gear. I guess it polished off the remaining high spots. Glad I waited until the engine was more or less run in though; now I can really appreciate the difference and know what caused it. Second best mod I've done after the carb conversion. Next the panniers methinks.

The complete (91130) system also decreased the little engine vibration I had remaining after having covered more than 14,000 miles, it now feels like a totally different bike. I unfortunately damaged my silencer on day1 due to it sitting closer to the ground

I initially rotated the footrest clockwise which did add some ground clearance but since then and with a lot of jiggery poker have managed to get the silencer to sit much closer to the swinging arm and well out of harms way.

Ric:I'll have a look at mine; I should be able to reposition it. It does seal well, no pops or bangs on the overrun. I have the same one as you, not the upswept one. At least with it sitting further out the silencer doesn't get covered in crud. Bad design to have the final drive chain on the same side as the silencer IMHO but there we are. Do you run yours with the bsaffle in? I've left mine in; it seems pretty loud, though quieter than my pre-unit Tiger 100. I suppose I could try it without the baffles but I'm not exactly Mr Popular with the neighbours, not helped by a bloke a couple of houses up who has a Kawasaki H2 (the new one with a supercharger) that he insists on revving the nuts off to hear the supercharger chirrup. One day I'll give him a race on my Thruxton round some bends......
