I lost my best friend last night. Our dog Spot passed away after 19 very happy years
Faithful to the end she tried to keep a positive attitude but we could both see that she'd had enough & was giving up.
The vet said it was amazing she had lasted to that ripe old age but she was a survivor up to the end but her age finally caught up with her.....

I, or WE will both miss her so much!

Gaz very hard when you lose a pet you have had for so long 19 years is an extraordinary lifespan for a dog, enfields dont last that long, but you must have a stack of happy memories to look back on with fondness, be thankful that your good friend did not suffer. All the best, Scotty.

Gaz, I lost my best friend around the time yours was born. I don't know how old she was as she was a rescue dog but she was a part of our family for 15 years. Her picture still sits on the bookcase and her lead still hangs behind the door, and in spite of protestations from other family members I've never felt it right to replace her. Sympathies.

Scotty - thanks man! Made me smile about the life of an Enfield!
2cvandy - Spotty was a rescue dog virtually dumped on our doorstep way back in 2000 by some very shady characters.
We've looked after her & she's done the same for us ever since.
Like the vet said, she was a family member & when she's gone it leaves a gulf it's very hard to fill - But time is a great healer. We will never forget her.
Thanks for all the kind words guys

Hello Gaz,

I can really sympathize with your loss. I had a Yorkshire terrier for nearly 13 years and he died on 13th August last year. He'd been ill for a long time but was still my beautiful, mischievous and lovable Turpin. My partner and I took him to the vet together and Turpin died in my arms after his injection. I was heartbroken and later received his ashes and a wonderfully written card from the company. We scattered his ashes in the nearby park that he loved.
We now have a beautiful Border terrier who'll be two on 31st August. Dogs are wonderful companions and good friends and leave behind fantastic memories... and lots of laughs.
Love from Sheilax
