Vintage motorcycle day, Aylesford near Maidstone, Kent





SUNDAY 6th August is 'public day'.


This is at the friary (or priory, I am never quite sure?) I have been informed that there will be an RE stand there, where we can park our RE bikes.

The place is an old priory that got a damn good kicking under Henry VIII, but mostly survived. In the middle of last century, the priors or fryers were invited back to do whatever they did prior (or friar) to being evicted in the first place. It's quite neat.

I am planning to take Tornado, having won this weeks 'Game' that we play together. This is the game that all RE's play. They purposely loosen random nuts and bolts, and you have to find them all before bits fall off or the bike comes apart.
This week I played the joker (Tube of locktite).

Les, where is the RE stand and how do I get there?( to the stand)

I have not been to this one before Simon, I will be going down on Saturday afternoon to help set up so will have to find my own way around the site, I will post any info that may help when I have it

Les, do you want to take the banner? I don't really need it, snd I did ask Mick if he wanted it, but maybe you should just turn up with it Saturday. I would love to help, but am storing my clock system that day.

We would have to meet before then of course...

A bit late getting on here today Simon, if yo email me an address with post code I may be able to pick it up in the morning ( Saturday ) before going to Alesford

We set up the Kent Branch display pitch, to find it you go onto a stone chip car park and the entrance to the field is straight across, our display is nearly in to opposite corner, so if you head for the furthest away corner you will find it, you cant miss it as it has a really nice banner on the side of the tent, the Kent Branch and white horse Invicta flags are flying high
