Why don't you phone me and ask? The numbers are in The Gun as well as my email address, it is in the "Invitations" (Rallies) section. I have also listed the events that will take place so folk have an idea what's going on.

Reds, drop me an email. I can't post all the details here as the event is for REOC members. We are happy to have visitors at suitable times but it's not fair to Club members who have paid their subs if we throw the whole thing open.

But, Mark M, it's useful if people who aren't already in the REOC also know about the event. I live 10 miles from Henlow and would be interested in coming along to say hello etc.

We regularly hold the Morini Riders Club rally at Henlow - an excellent venue - and always encourage people who aren't club members to come along: it's the perfect environment to press-gang unsuspecting people to join the club!

Mark B, the problem for me as organiser is that Henlow Bridge Lakes is a "closed" site, in other words you have to pay to enter. When we used an "open" site, like last year when we used the field behind our meeting pub, I publicised the Saturday run and invited guests as they could just ride straight in. Feedback from Rallyists is that they want the extra facilities of a site like Henlow but this comes with some conditions, access being one of them. I am negotiating with the guys at Henlow (who are very helpful by the way,) and as soon as I have a satisfactory solution to this that suits both them and the REOC, I will let you all know, hopefully tomorrow. In the meantime I can say the run out will leave Henlow at 10.30 on Saturday, please be there early if you want to join in!

Sorry it's later than I hoped but here are the details for the REOC Home Counties Rally this weekend. The run will leave at 10.30 sharp on the Saturday, please be there for 10 for final details. (The lunch stop will be at Shepreth, Cambs, at about 1.00 if you prefer.) Assemble in the parking area at the main gate. There is only access to the site from the A507 Eastbound, if coming from the West slow down as soon as you see the REOC sign on the lamppost (or Arlesey Station sign) as the slip road to the site is tight and comes up quick! If coming from the East, carry on to the roundabout and turn back, only a few hundred yards. Visitors will be welcome over the weekend but there is a £3 vehicle entry fee to the site if you are not a REOC member, this is a private site and this is their charge. You can enter on foot free. We are set up in the area called Johns 1. Further details for REOC members are in The Gun magazine. See you all there!

Well, we had a great weekend. Excellent turnout of people and bikes. Lots of Redditch built machines and some nicely personalised modern Enfields. The site is great, the staff friendly and the onsite facilities are excellent. We had an enjoyable run Saturday to a fine pub (the Green Man) in Shepreth which took us through some interesting and pretty parts of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire. It was good to see some new (and old) REOC members drop in over the weekend, including Reds from this board who sadly had to cut short his stay due to a work roster change. The Model G he bought recently is a little gem, the pictures didn't do it justice, a very fine restoration. Incidentally of all the people who expressed an interest in visiting, either on this site or by phone, not one turned up. Those who said they were definitely attending, all REOC members, did show up. It takes a lot of work for several people (not just me,) to put on even a small event. If folk want things to do at weekends, please support them. Enjoy the rest of the summer, I'll be out riding now!
