Why we all should support Air Ambulance.
We do just that individually and as a club.

Yorkshire Air Ambulance just bought a new chopper at an eye-watering six million quid!
Daily running costs of YAA are around 12k.
They really need our support as they are not government funded (though I think they should be)
It's my favourite charity along with RNLI (I sail as well)

I belong to the Medway Model Flying Club we donated £1700.00 to the air ambulance last year collected at various events, this amount has already been exceeded so far this year, so we will be able to give a sizable donation again

The various air ambulance services around here use the local rugby club as a training centre, and I believe can use it as major accident control centre. That means we get to see a lot of them. Some of the air ambulances double up as police helicopters.

"Some of the air ambulances double up as police helicopters"
I doubt that. Air ambulances are called on by the police as well as other emergency services but to do police work? I don't think so. The personnel wouldn't be qualified for one thing.

PeteF - you may be right. Next time they park the choppers on the No.1 rugger pitch I shall have to hop along and take some pics. They make enough racket about it and it's only a few hundred yards away.
