Guys,

Had a lovely ride this morning and on my return to the market square for a coffee I parked up amongst a group of lambertta,s .

Some gorgeous little machines although the exhaust note can't compare to a Enfield .

The middle age men in green bomber jackets with union flag patches sewn on and jeans where smitten with my bullet and told me how their love of British history etc. funny thing is their riding Italian scoots , however r there were some gorgeous customised scooters.

One thing about Enfield ownership is it is a conversion starter with people of all ages and walks different walks of life.

How times have changed!

Now we stop and admire their scooters, whereas a few years back, we'd have seen them off with a flea in their ear.

CBG Classic Bike Show at Newark this year had 2 halls of Scooterworld - and they were as full of visitors (and as interesting) as the bike exhibs. The thing is, we now realise that we're all in it together against the twats (aka politicians) who want to stop us enjoying a thoroughly good hobby.

At the end of the road (eclipse) rally back in 1999, someone came from Naples to the Lizard, 1560 miles, on a 125cc scooter. That deserves respect whatever style of two wheeler.

All that mods and rockers stuff had nothing to do with bikes or scooters. That was just an excuse for a punch up just as religious differences or football club preference are used as an excuse for conflict.
To quote Swift it's biggendism.
