I was wearing my RE T shirt about a month ago in a pub in Camberley when a clearly illiterate person asked if I was an Arsenal fan (presumably because of the picture of the gun) Then last week I was waiting for the funicular up Castle Hill in Budapest when a person (I suspect a German) asked if I was a Liverpool fan - presumably pronouncing Anfield as Enfield. I wish to state that I am not now and have never been a "fan" of any football club.

Agree-the world seems to be obsessed with the game-now more than ever.I used to love football up to about 20 years ago(before the Premiership) but just like F1 the greed and the money has totally spoilt it for me.I now get my kicks watching (and sometimes having a go myself-but only in my car) speed hillclimbing which is completely grassroots where you can get close up to the action and actually converse with the participants.
