I think it looks rather nice, but I'm no expert. I donn't exactly like the indicators, but my first job would be to replace the plated bolts holding the handlebar clamp.

Looks a nice tidy bike, with a few extras like the larger tank, flat lidded tool boxes, though the indicators look like Enfield standard ones, though maybe for the later bikes? Looking at the large bolt heads of the ones holding the handlebar clamp, it may be that the original thread/s have stripped and been re drilled and tapped next size up? When one of mine stripped I just drilled right through the casting and tapped it right through, with longer stainless cap screws to original sze. Hope you enjoy the bike, seems you have a nice one!

Damn! Missed the chonometric clock and Amal Monoblock carb, plus of course the bolt on pillion " seat". Is that front mudguard from a Reditch bike, or were the early Indians like that, with the raised ridge down the middle? Still looks like a good 'un!

I think it's an Indian Enfield from about the 1980s, not either an Indian or Redditch 1966 bike. Having said that it looks nice and 2K is not a bad price from a Dealer. Bikes like this do turn up here quite regularly, buyers often don't know what they've bought. If you're happy all's well!

If it is Redditch then it's had quite a few "Indian" bit added. The description says "First registered in '64" and the mileage at 583 is likely from when that imitation chronometric was fitted (the only thing chronometric about it is the lettering on the dial). The ignition switch is also modern (I think) The tank isn't original with a locking filler cap (again, I think) There is a lot that certainly isn't 1964
So, if it truly is a 1964 frame, it has not been "meticulously restored" but rather rebuilt with modern bits. It would be interesting to run the frame and engine numbers through the REOC to see what you really have.
As it stands, I think you've paid top end money for it. That being said, it could be a good useable bike, I hope it is and if you like it.....

Thanks for your replies i m confused now. The ad says 1964 but is wrong and should be 1966. I did a HPI check on it ( number plate ) and it comes back to a 1966 Royal Enfield Bullet could this be wrong ? .

I think it is a old bike which has just been modernised with new bits rather than restored.

It looks nice and hopefully rides nice however i was going to buy a Model G 1955 for 4100 BUT BOTTLED it as i see this for half the money and was told that 4100 was too dear . Im confused should i have got the model G ? Im glad i joined the forum for the your guys wisdom and guidance.

Please give it to me straight guys. : ) Thanks again

I don't want to be negative - and too be sure it's a nice bike for anyone's £2K - but to my eye that looks like a modern Indian Enfield, at least most of the visible parts are modern Indian. One little detail – are any machines registered on the 1st January of whatever year??
