Did anyone watch Engine Addict with Jimmy DeVille the other week, he bolted two 500 Enfield engine side by side and built a dune buggy around them, bit of a botch job but what annoys me is after all his projects he claims its a new record of some sort or other, he even fried the clutch then goes on to say he completed the coarse without the clutch !! I thought no clutch no drive, bit of an annoying character, but I suppose these ex SAS types have to fill their days doing something like trekking through the jungle alone with a full back up team.

Don't get me started on that one - not only was the clutch clearly a Newby Racing job and well up to handling the power of about five Bullet engines - but, once again we have horsepower figures just plucked out of fresh air. And as for that shaft connecting the two engines - why not leave the splines inside the sprocket and spline the connecting shaft to suit it? Instead, it was rounded out and pegged onto the shaft and bound to fail almost instantly. Load of cobblers, to put it as politely as I can manage. Regards, Paul.

Hi, there. I have a memory of when this pile of horsecr*p was first aired to an unfortunate public, there were discussions on the site about how anybody would be so stupid as to build a 'Dune Buggy' and then not put a roll cage on it. You can guarantee one thing with this series. The adverts hold more truth than the words spoken and the claims made. Best Regards, Chris.

Saw this program in the tv listings, gave the impression that it was about the Enfield engine. "Yes, must watch that, will even record it in case I want to keep it," I thought. What a load of garbage.

Just part of the general dumbing-down of TV, I'm afraid. As there's a market for this sort of hobby-ist program, just persuade some producer type that you're an expert and off you go. A.
