You may well have heard various tales about people getting close to their Enfields? Here are a couple of examples of things that have been said.

"The Bullet was a bike that demanded a relationship with its rider"

and Royal Enfield themselves saying,

"Many bullet owners develop a very close relationship with their motorcycles"

Well, I have given up trying to deny it. It's way, way to late for that. Here is my entry entitled, "At home with your bike."

"An evening in."

"And so to bed."

With that, I'll await those nice white coated gentlemen!

Back in the 80s I ran a notorious bikers pub in here in Bristol and every night after I managed to eject the drunken clientele, I rode my bike into the pub and parked it next to the bar, shouldn't all bikes have home comforts, or in my case pub comforts.

I'm afraid senior mangement wouldn't approve of inviting my lot into the house. Years ago I managed to wangle the purchase of a second bike bike (BMW K100RS SE) in lieu of a leased car. I used to use it to attend various conferences etc. Once I attended a meeting in Northallerton, held at a hotel. The staff there were most insistent that I parked my Beemer in the ballroom overnight, for fear of it being nicked or vandalised. This I did. Unfortunately, in the morning I had to ride it up a plank to get out of the ballroom. Those old K bikes, apart from doing seriously stellar mileages, also had a tendency to smoke a bit (a lot actually) if left on the sidestand for any length of time becuase the oil ran into the cylinder head. So in the morning I'm ashamed to say I left a pall of acrid blue smoke in the ballroom... Oh, well.
