Return to the fold

Should Norm still read this board - then stop now! Having been without a R.E. for two years, I have taken the plunge and exchanged my utterly reliable, more than quick enough Honda CBF 500 abs for an EFI. The reason? well, although the Honda would be considered a light/medium weight, as I edge towards my late 60's, I have begun to find its bulk intimidating. Not once on the road, you understand, but shifting around the garage, and on the awkward unmade road that leads to my house. I dropped it there last year, pulled all sorts of muscles, ham strings etc. and (oh the shame) had to rely on a young neighbour to rescue me! Couldn't ride for 3 months - ouch! Do you know, in spite of its total competence - it was never quite "me." Quite illogical!
So here we go again, 2 years after selling my '02 500 Classic, I'm back, and can't wait to get out on the road.
One thing. I was looking at two very similar second hand EFIs in my area. One in less than apple-pie order (rusty rims, loose wires all over the place), was for sale at a posh establishment that deals in top end classics. They wanted my Honda plus £2000 please. The second, at a very down to earth bike shop, and in much better condition (apparently) wanted the Honda plus £500. (the EFI is several years newer that the CBF). They assumed that I wanted and extended test run, which I did. Guess which deal I took?
P.S. Did any of you take on my old Classic - AD02 - ripped seat and dented side panel after a disagreement with a bike trailer and the intervention of gravity?
