Considering Enfields are very popular according to forums like this one and others , and the enthusiasm, I never see that many out and about. I cover a lot of miles around the South West (UK) I saw one in Axminster trundle by the market yesterday out of about a dozen of other bikes on my commute between Bristol and Devon, I will change the route sometimes in the hope of seeing a group of Enfield riders. So as it is, they are out there but where?

Funnily enough I saw one last night riding out of Goole, in East Yorkshire.

I asked this question a while ago specifically about the new Continental GT. I don't drive, only ride and do a lot of miles all over the country and find the same thing. At events there are Enfields (but not many GTs!) but not generally on the road?

Perhaps it's because Enfields are so distinctive that we expect to see them? You could ask where are all the Fireblades or Fazers, given how common (relatively) they are, you don't see that many of those either. To be fair, you do see more than Enfields certainly, but then a lot more get sold than Enfields so you would expect it. I commute on a little Honda CBF125, apparently a very common commuter bike, but I've only ever seen three or four of those. If you look at annual sales figures for even the best selling bikes they are tiny compared to most cars. I wonder how many Enfields are sold annually in this country?

I commute on an almost daily basis on my bikes from March to October and then use them weather permitting most weekends but rarely see many bikes of any type.I think unless you go to recognised biker type haunts you just don't tend to see them these days.I was at a hillclimb last weekend at Shelsley Walsh where there were bikes (and cars) competing but the number of bikers watching were very few.I did see an Indian Enfield when i got to within half a mile of my home on the way backhowever.

They are all sneaking around the 'A' and 'B' roads.

Mine like to go out when it's quiet, on a leisurely journey down a back road. That's where you are more likely to find them, or at home being petted and polished!

At the "old gits" biker meet at the Knowstone log cabin pull-in on the A361 on wednesdays there are often one or two. Sometimes they get ridden there and away again too! There's always a nice selection of old Brit bikes including royal oilfieds to been seen and usually a Dresda or Goldie to be coveted as well. Definately worth stopping off there if you're passing.

I rarely see any around..... I used mine year round for the daily commute for about 6 years.... They don't like salty roads one bit. I now have two, unfortunately they are both laid up in the garage awaiting engine rebuild. I am now using a 'modern' steed for the daily.....
