Steve has raised the question of ear protection and eye protection has also been mentioned. I'm currently on the mend from an accident which I'm not going to detail here now (maybe later when the legalities are all sorted) but could I urge you all to review your foot and ankle protection. I thought I was careful, but my budget StylMartin motorcycle boots didn't prevent severe bruising and spraining of foot and ankle ligaments in a 5 mph collision (I was stationary) 10 days ago. When I can put a boot on and can think about riding again I shall be buying more protective boots.

A speedy recovery and a good reminder especially in this hot weather it can be uncomfortable with sturdy protective clothing in the heat but well worth it

Had a quick look at these stylmartin boots. Some of them look fairly sturdy. I currently ride around in my 'engineer' boots not as good as my Hein Gericke boots but certainly better than my neighbour who rode off on his Aprilla wearing flips flops and shorts! It made me wince just looking at him!! Wish you a quick recovery.

Geoff sorry to hear you've.had an accident hope you're soon well enough to get on two wheels, even when it's as hot as it is now I wear my full kit two piece leathers that zip together and gloves, these are the boots I'm using at the moment and I find them comfortable with good protection

Forma Enduro boots, most of the time but hot weather, above ankle walking boots. I cringe when I see riders in shorts/ sandals and no gloves.

Not that such things influence me these days, been around too long for that, but just noticed that the great Tai Woffinden wears TCX boots as recommended by SteveT. Will certainly put them on the short list.

Does anyone know where I can find a pair of raised heel motorcycling boots? The only ones I can find on the internet would get me some strange looks.
