I suspect we have all done it, put it somewhere safe and forgotten where that is.
I lost a new Optimate three permanent battery connector lead, to go with a lead I have made up with a standard socket and an Optimate plug so the permanent battery connector is dual purpose, charge then battery and also be able to plug in a tiny compressor for pumping up tyres whilst out on the road should the need arise.
Now I have ordered a new lead, I have just found the one I had put somewhere safe.

Along with throwing something out that has been hanging around unused for years only to need it a few days later.

Have you looked in the fridge.....?

Oops, I should have read to the end.... Did you find it in the fridge?

While you are in the fridge can you see if the gearbox clutch cable inspection cap off the Interceptor is there? I put it on the edge of the hydraulic lift and 2 minutes later it had disappeared completely! I've had to nick one off something else which I will probably have forgotten about when I next come to use it...
