Hi chaps,I have a Electra but am considering another purchase, something a bit quicker.
Would a Hinckley bonnie or a er 5 be suitable for a mid 70 year old rider with dodgey knees
I am open to any suggestions
Cheers

I've just bought the 500 Bullet, but had a 2002 Bonnie for 4 years now. Mine is the T100 model. Its a beauty. I love it. original seat is a plank.. aftermarket ones work well. get one with the chrome engine cases. they hold their money well too.. if you are ever up near Nottingham you could call in and try mine?

Jenks I have a Thruxton which has rear sets etc and it is delightful to ride. I live in Leicestershire and if you are near by please let me know and you can try mine to compare with the offer of a T100 in the earlier message. Alternatively come to MadMikes Gathering and I will bring it along to the Gathering. Details are on page 2 at the moment. Bonnies? Highly recommended here.

Hi Jenks, the new bonnevilles are solid as a rock. That being said 34000 miles is considered medium mileage (nonsense, these engines do 200k+ without rebuilds) so I would say something around 3-3,5k would be nice. Maybe 4 because summer is coming. As a bonneville owner I've to mention though, don't count out the Kawasaki w650 and w800. They feel alot more retro, are a bit slower, bit more mid control then the bonneville and are just as reliable.

Might be worth mentioning, Royal Enfield's new parallell twin's prototype has been spotted on photographs online.. If they come in a bullet frame, I don't think there will be a more sit up and easy on the knees motorcycle around.
