Sometimes you just have to share something. This is from the royal enfield yahoo group (
[email protected])
"Rpyal E CS 500 MOANS WHEN NOT ON
so this is strange when my 2012 CS 500 is just sitting in the driveway off, not running it makes a moaning noise. I notice it when I am working in my other bike in the car port. I can't figure out where its coming from. So strange! Anyone ever have this problem. My neighbor even heard it when he walked by and said "What was that. Some kind of alarm?" I told him I was pretty sure it doesn't have an alarm. I have had many bikes and this is a first!"
My suggestion? Work on your Bullet as well mate, then it won't have a reason to moan!

The petrol tank breather on my old Kawasaki ER6 used to make a similar noise in warmer weather.

Yeah, petrol tank, usually round the cap somewhere on an Enfield! I usually notice it after a hot summer ride, as if the bike is sighing in contentment!REgards, Mark

My ER6 is very prone making noises when the sun shines on the fuel tank, the bikes with the latest type of fuel injection do not have an open vent in the tank so when the fuel expands with heat gas is pushed through a valve as far as I am aware
