That looked a suspiciously easy kick start for a 600 single.

Just seen it - thanks Martin! In fact, Pete F, it is a 650cc model 120 and the engine is totally rebuilt. It starts very easily, but sometimes it can feel like I might have left a brick in the cylinder, the compression is so strong! The Panthers also have a neat compression reducing device operated via a small lever on the timing cover which holds the exhaust valve off the seat by a very small amount. With this employed, just about anyone could start it easily, although I have only used it to verify it works myself, I think the elderly owner might appreciate it !! Cheers, Paul.
