Today's the day I bring my Bullet home. I bought my second Bullet Classic 4 speed from Dave Wicks in Dereham in January 09 and kept it in Bungay in my mother's garage visiting when I could. You may remember my fuel cap breathing problem saga. No riding for the past few years for various reasons. I lived in a flat in N Kent and had nowhere to keep it and who'd ride in SE England with the Waveney Valley as an option? But mum in residential care now and her house being sold chiz chiz. I've moved in with my best beloved partner now and have a garage hooray. So today with Spring in the air I'm trailering it down to its new home. New battery waiting on the Optimate, oil and filters ready, then to MOT.
If you see a black Bullet this afternoon on a trailer behind a Skoda between Bungay and the Dartford Bridge today then wave, you'll be on camera.Should a retired gent get this excited .

Welcome back Geoff, I'm guessing you'll be posting video too by the sound of it? I should get one and post some big Twin videos for variety!

It has been reported by a good friend that the Dartford Crossing is vastly improved since the change of toll collection method.

Oh dear me Geoff. What bad timing. Leaving Nelson country just as the Norfolk riders club is getting going. Still I suppose you could organise a Kent Group. That's it! Every County has an Enfield Riders Group.

You'll be able to join Scalyback when he's not over in France, and he's not the only one. Whereabouts are you? A.

Geoff - I remember your earlier postings on this message board. I used to look out for you whenever I rode in
the "Saints" area - shame we never met. Enjoy your resumed riding.

Thanks all for the welcome back messages. Who knows whose paths I'll cross in future, but I shall miss The Saints very much, but I hope not forever. I have a pretty good knowledge of Kent from my cycling days, the Luddesdowne area and all along the escarpment, Grain and North Kent in particular so I'll not want for ideas. At present it's very pleasant to have the bike at hand all the time to tinker with when I want. Starting today to see if I can get it running. There was a charging problem when I last ran it three years ago. Dirty earths the most likely. Bullets don't like very occasional use as in 2200km since Jan 2009... PS for info the Dartford Crossing is fine southwards but northwards still a complete pain and I don't think will improve. And don't please get me started on their customer care, now based in Leeds. Trying to renew my account took an MP's intervention to achieve...

A chafed wire at the fuse under the seat was shorting on the seat pan. Quick sort at least. After usual fresh fuel, kicking over to get fuel into the carb and a little oil around, it started 2nd kick. Getting the solvo autosol out this afternoon and arranging insurance and MOT next week. A weekend well spent. Geoff.
