Hi All,
Pretty urgent one, i hate to ask it as i know it may offend some people. I am not a spammer or bike dealer just an honest hobbyist restorer. I have stumbled upon a veteran enfield two speed gearbox (1913-14) is there anyone out there that can tell me what it is worth PLEASE. I have someone willing to buy it but they have the upper hand as i don't know what it is worth. I have been shafted enough times and just want to get a fair price.
Please don't hate me for asking !
Thanks
Pete

You could try emailing our Hosts direct to see if they have any ideas or contacts. This site mostly caters for Post WW2 Enfields, military included, so l doubt if any regular can answer. The earlier stuff is in the realm of the VMCC who may be able to help if you call them. If the buyer really wants this box he will wait until you have a price. REgards, Mark

Mark I had this sort of discussion on Sunday with a bloke who had some WD motors and assorted bits. It is relevant to somebody wanting or needing the bits, then the price is whatever they are prepared to pay, but as it was if he really wanted to get rid of it, it wasn't worth much to me

Thanks both thought might be the case. I have always believed in 'it is only worth what someone will give you for it' but think offer made was taking the biscuit a little considering age and rarity. Its avoided identification for some time by many experts hence trying on here just in case.
Thanks again

Personally I would hand fire selling, until you can get a valuation. Anything British motorcycle related THAT old could be worth silly money.
