Spring? I would need full Sou-Wester kit to get from my back door to the garage today, and it is only 15 yards away.

Hi Malc, is this the Eureka unit? I fitted one recently,it's a doddle. Just follow the instructions. My bike started first kick after fitting and only needed minor adjustment to the timing for the bike to run perfectly. You will find the kill switch won't work any more, but if this bothers you it can be wired slightly differently. Sorry, can't remember exactly how, but no doubt others on this forum willl be able to advise.

As we seem to have successfully hijacked your thread I thought I had best get back to the subject there seems to be a Technical note about electronic ignition, it is in the Technical notes section of this web site may be of use

Just looked at it in the accessory shop and my suggestion about the technical note will be of no use I would suggest if you have to extend the wiring to use soldered joints insulated with heat shrink tube rather than crimped or other types of connector
