Hello chaps, I'm attempting to get a club up and running for RE enthusiasts and owners located in Norfolk (there's no active REOC branch here). The aim is to bring together like-minded owners for rides-out, technical help etc in an informal network. It could be, of course, that I'm the only one here because I never see any other Royal Enfields when I'm out and about! Anyway I've set up a Facebook page at

www.facebook.com/RoyalEnfieldRidersClubNorfolk

If you're in Norfolk and interested, visit and like the page for updates, say hello and maybe we can get Royal Enfields active in Norfolk!

Just a thought.......there may well be in your locality RE owners who do not have access to the Internet, or who DO have, but do not wish to get involved with Facebook - how will you make yourself known to them ?

Bear: nice one! Looking forward to seeing that bike in the flesh when you get it.

John L: there is that difficulty. Though I'm not a great fan of Facebook either, a club page like this is a simple way to reach across the internet. I suppose I'm hoping for a 'word of mouth' thing to to get going, arising out of those who do visit the FB page.

Norwich Bullet, if you are a member of the REOC the Club Chairman will give you contact details for owners in your area to help start a Branch. (Before anyone asks this is within Data protection rules.) There is also other help available ( for instance a free banner for advertising at events) and some money to help with expenses but I think this is a modest sum! REgards, Mark

Mark and Chris: many thanks for the tip re. REOC assistance. I did contact the club a while ago but not having a reply I assumed they were otherwise occupied. That said, I'm not a member, so perhaps not unreasonable! Maybe I'll join up and try them again - it would certainly be good get something going here in Norfolk on a par with what members get to enjoy in other counties.

There was a Norfolk Branch a few years back but the Secretary emigrated and seemingly no-one else took it on. There were a good few members for a while so there must be some some interest out there! Membership of the REOC is cheap and Graham Scarth, (Chairman,) and the rest will make you welcome. The riding season is fast approaching so a good time to be getting a Branch up and running. Incidentally the REOC is a pretty relaxed club, for instance we have non-members who drop in to our meetings and events (I am joint sec of the Home Counties Branch) but if we have a shared interest in bikes, preferably Enfields, it's ok.
