About 2 years ago, needing reliable everyday transport, I swapped my 2002 Classic for a Honda CBF500 twin with all usual mod-cons including liquid cooling, ABS, etc. which all help pile on the pounds. Circumstances have now changed again and I am considering going back to a R.E., but this time one of the latest EFI models. One of the main considerations is that I find the Honda carries too much weight too high up, making it less than handy at low speed or manoeuvring around the garage. I already dropped it once at low speed on gravel, and did my ham string no good at all trying to save it. Couldn't ride for 6 weeks as a result. Do you EFI riders find them rider friendly in this respect? Any other comments welcome by this O.A.P.

What you describe is exactly what I find I have a 650 Kawasaki and Ammo my 500 EFI Classic Bullet although I am not a pensioner until next year I find the Bullet much easier to physically handle the weight difference between the two is not that great it must be the distribution that makes the Bullet easier to handel

With apologies for the delay in responding - thanks for your comments, chaps. Scalyback your film was most encouraging, and I tell you what, it looks like you live in a pretty nice place! I note that my local dealer (D & C Classics, Ickornshaw, near Keighley) rent out EFIs by the day. I am going to give that a try, and see how I get on. Thanks again.
